VICTORIA COLLEGE OF ART

“FINAL DRAFT”

37th annual student year-end Sale and Open House

Admission, refreshments, and live entertainment free as usual.

Last year 90 creative works flew off the walls into the hands of the 700 people who came to celebrate our students’ artistic achievements at the opening reception.

This April 1st Student Sale & Open House (7-10 pm) is another opportunity to purchase a very affordable special piece you or your friends will treasure forever.

Are you buying the early flowering of genius of a future Picasso or Giacometti? Who knows? There will be over four hundred works in all media lining the walls of the historic Victoria College of Art to choose from. Blown away by what you see? Just pay for it, take it off the wall, and carry it home. (Cash, debit, and credit cards accepted.)

On Saturday and Sunday afternoons (1-4pm), see how it’s all done. Our professional faculty will be present for demonstrations, presentations, and lectures in every subject, including Animation, Illustration, Textile Arts, leading-edge Print-Making, non-noxious Mold-making and Casting as well as Painting, Drawing, Photography, Graphic Design, Sculpture and a 3D installation project at the front door.

On Monday, April 4th, see our diploma graduates’ work at the Victoria College of Art Annex at The Well. (821 Fort Street) Reception 6:30-9 pm. Show continues until April 15th.

Loss of a wonderful tapestry weaving teacher

It is with great sadness that I inform you of James Koehler's passing. James died last night, Thursday, March 3rd. At this time there are no details for a memorial service. James was loved and respected by many, many friends and students.
I had taken two courses from James Koehler and hoped to take more. he was a very patient man. I have a book that was published recently on his interesting life. I'm very sad to hear this. Heather
