ANWG Conference 2017 in Victoria

ANWG Conference 2017 Treadle Lightly Victoria B.C. Here's what we know now: The Association of Northwest Weavers' Guilds is sponsoring the next conference in Victoria. The primary host will be the Victoria Handweavers' and Spinners' Guild. The dates for ANWG Conference are set for June 28th to July 2nd 2017 in Victoria B.C. Canada.. The conference will be taking place at the University of Victoria. We live on an island with 3 different ferry routes to take you to Victoria. When traveling by land be sure to have the correct picture ID and identification for crossing the border. If you are flying into Victoria you will need a passport.  The airport code is YYJ. B.C. ferry Anacortes ferry Port Angeles ferry The theme "Treadle Lightly" represents being aware of our environment and making greener choices. We have approved the Logo design and have chosen the conference colours. The colours are blue, yellow, orange, purple, pink, green and grey. Thanks to our graphic artist Jeff Werner,  we have lots of colour and potential design elements to chose from. Have fun with them! The website is up and running. It will be continually mananged and edited so please keep coming back. This will give us a better rating in the search engines. anwgconference2017.com The conference will include: Pre Conference 3 day workshops- Wednesday to Friday June 28th to June 30th   Welcome and Dessert Reception and a Shop 'till you Drop in the Market Hall. Friday June 30th 1/2 day and full day seminars- Saturday and Sunday. July 1st and 2nd Fashion Show- Saturday. July 1st Banquet and Keynote Speaker- Sunday July 2nd We are looking forward to hosting the next ANWG Conference. We are in the process of looking for instructors for these classes. We had no programme as no one had volunteered to do one so had a great show and tell.

Fifteen people present and nice to see some that hadn’t been in a long time.

Knit Scene in Vancouver this weekend had 3 members going.

Old business

Our every second year Fibre Stash sale is March 21^st next year. Since the hall will not be available. as it is being re built .the sale will be at the Cedar Hall.

Fiona is going to look into the Coastal Community Credit Union portable ATM machine to have on site at the sale.

Vancouver Guild has a free lecture on October 16th- one could get details from their site.

ANWG (Association of North West Weavers) is looking fore help for the Conference to be held in Victoria in June 2017

New Business

Eleventh annual Dream Spin is going to be held at Cowichan Lake again this February 13,14,15^th More information to come or email Jeanette Roberts.

We need to get more tea etc. Treasurer wasn’t there to give the tea money to. We used to get money from the raffle. I have bought something for next months raffle.

Lots of great show and tell but I did not take notes this time. Anne Fiddick is involved with a Country Christmas Sale November 22 at 2745 Munroe Road near the millstone River Bridge from 10 am to 3pm in the barn.
