And here’s information about one of the
workshops, especially for those of you who may be thinking about learning to
weave or want to know more about rigid heddle weaving!
Rigid Heddle Weaving with Joanne Hall,
Saturday, Oct. 15, 9-4:30
The loom and all supplies are
provided for this beginning weaving class. Rigid heddle weaving is easy to
learn and fast to weave. The loom is very portable and affordable. You will
learn to set up the loom and to weave. In this day-long class you will become
a weaver and in the process you will weave a scarf. You will learn about
selecting yarns, putting them on the loom, preparing the yarn for weaving, using
shuttles, weaving techniques and finishing techniques. You will learn enough
to weave on your own after the class.
For experienced weavers, there
will be a display of more advanced weaving techniques and discussion of pattern
weaving using two heddles.
Joanne Hall is a weaver, teacher and author.
Joanne started the Elkhorn Mountains Weaving Studio in Montana City,
Montana, where she weaves tapestries and teaches weaving classes.
For
this class, registration is $85, and there is a materials fee of
$35.
